Hello! I am Dr Nana Aba Nduom. You may call me Dr Aba or Dr Nduom (pronounced IN-dome), either is fine.
I am a fully licensed Physician (MD), and I am a Board Certified Psychiatrist. I specialize in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of mental health and emotional problems. I work with children, teenagers, and adults, and I do both psychopharmacology (prescribing medications) and psychotherapy. These days, my primary focus is psychopharmacology as that allows me to work with more people, but every interaction is influenced and guided by my psychotherapy training.
I practice under the company: Aba Nduom, M.D. PLLC. Despite having a company name, this is a one person show! I do not employ any staff, so everything from scheduling, billing and medication refills are handled directly by me.
Educational & Professional Training
After obtaining my Bachelor Degree (BA) in Psychology at Yale University, I went to medical school at Washington University in St Louis School of Medicine for my Medical Degree (MD). I then completed my 4 year General Psychiatry Residency at University of Washington, with an Area of Distinction in Perinatal Psychiatry, followed by a 2 year Child and Adolescent Psychiatry fellowship, also through University of Washington, based at Seattle Children’s Hospital. I am board certified in General Psychiatry, and in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, through the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). I also have a full Medical License in Washington State.
In addition to running my private practice, I am affiliated with the University of Washington, and for half a day a week, I provide perinatal psychiatry consultation services via the Perinatal Psychiatry Consult Line (PCL) for WA Providers.
